Meet my friends Stephanie and Dave Walls.

Dave and Steph

From the desk of Stephanie Walls:

It seems like I spent most of my childhood chasing squirming little critters. My mother had a rule that I could keep anything I caught, as long as I knew how to take care of it. Throughout the years I brought home; tarantulas, toads, frogs, salamanders, and various lizards. My first snake was a hatchling diamond back rattle snake that my father caught for me- that was the only one I didn't take care of myself, but I spent a lot of time watching him and appreciating his beauty. As I got older, I spent a lot of time reading and learning about animals native to Colorado. I also began taking in the pitiful little creatures that had been injured around my grandparents' farm; little birds that had broken wings, turtles that had been hit by the tractor...the list was endless. When I entered college- it just seemed natural that I would study wildlife biology. I met my husband when I was nineteen, when we began dating he knew I loved animals, but I don't think he had any idea what he was in for! While living in Colorado, a friend of mine and I started an exotic animal rescue. We did pretty well placing unwanted animals, but placing special needs animals is difficult to impossible. Those little guys just ended up staying with me. Currently we do have a few that don't have physical or emotional problems- but not many. Our house motto has become- "If it just isn't right, it can live here." My life is crazy and chaotic, but it is also an adventure, and I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Stephanie has 10 years exotic animal experience. 3 years of zoo experience with 6 years formal biology education.

Many of the animals on the following pages are available for adoption to a good home, if you are interested please email the webmaster for more information.
